This year’s activities were inspired by Earth Day (Saturday 22nd April 2023), throughout the week we hosted a series of talks and workshops, each with an ecological focus.

First up was the Eco Photogram & Cyanotype Workshop with Glasgow City Mission with artist Donna Maria Kelly, the group created photograms and cyanotypes using recyclable and organic materials. Donna has worked with the Glasgow City Mission camera club for ten years in outings to visit exhibitions and leading photography workshops.
Environmental artist Scott Hunter presented Darkroom Ecology – a very quickly sold out workshop and artist talk introducing the use of plant-based developers to process photographic film.
We hosted the book launch for Alexander Hamilton’s In Search of the Blue Flower – the artist has worked with plants for fifty years by revealing their unique presence through the cyanotype process.
